WE ARE
EARLY BIRD
RUN CREW.

5k. Every weekday. Early.

We are EBRC. A group of free to join, community-led, informal running crews and yes, you may have guessed it, we start early.

We currently have crews in 3 different locations with a bunch of different 5k routes to run, each starting in the heart of the community that the crew serves.

Our mission is to create regular opportunities for non-competitive group running. We are a social bunch, and interacting with each other is just as important to us as running.

You don’t need to be a pro-runner; you may have had a break from running, you may already run regularly or you may have never put a pair of running trainers on before. We welcome anyone who is keen to give an early morning run a go.

We love to see our Crews repping their Early Bird Run Crew shirts but they are absolutely not a requirement. All that’s needed is some sensible shoes and clothing you feel comfortable in.

OUR VALUES

What makes EBRC so special is the fact we are a group of like-minded people from all different backgrounds, but we are all there for the same reason. To improve our physical and mental health.

At the core of Early Bird Run Crew are our values. These principles reflect our ethos and guide us in continuing to create the vibrant and supportive culture of EBRC.

Hello

We say a big hello to any new runners (and existing ones too!). It is really important that everyone feels welcome (especially if you’re a first timer) so please take a moment to look out for new runners, get to know them and welcome them to the crew.

Bravo!

We love to cheer runners back in, we totally realise some people have to rush off to work but if you have the time please hang around and welcome runners back in. It makes you and them feel all buzzy and chuffed. Hopefully, helping them come back again.

You’ll Never Be Last

There’s nothing worse than being stuck at the back, unless you want to be there. We ask that we all look out for each other, never leave anyone behind and follow the support of our Run Leaders.

Smile for Miles

This is our most important value and really makes people feel welcome. We want everyone to feel safe and comfortable so please be mindful of this and keep an eye out for other EBRC members.

Safety First

We all are responsible for our own safety. We run in all weathers, but we ask that you dress appropriately for what mother nature decides to throw at us. On dark mornings please wear the appropriate hi-vis clothing and bring a head torch. And there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.. so it’s up to you to come in your battle gear!

Snap!

We take a group picture before every run which goes on our social media. This is how we encourage new members to come on down. Of course, if you don’t want to be in the photo just let us know.

Look Out!

We take extra care at road crossings and look out for each other. Routes could have several road crossings so stop at each crossing, look both ways and check again. Never rely on someone else telling you it’s all clear.

It’s Good to Talk

Our Run leaders are there to listen and to help you in the best way they can. They have completed the EBRC Training Programme and you can find out who they are by visiting our individual crew pages. If you require further dedicated support, head over to our Support Page to find out more.

THE FACT THAT WE ARE ALL THERE FOR THE SAME REASON - FRIENDSHIP, SUPPORT, NO PRESSURE, LOVELY, LIKE MINDED PEOPLE
